![]() ![]() Here at Systems Interface, with our team of experienced engineers, we supply and install DVORs to airports across the globe. When the receiving unit collects these radio signals (up to 200 miles from the transmitter), they can pinpoint their position and enable the aircraft to remain on course. Due to their high frequency, they rely on line of sight from transmitter to receiver. These stations hold arrays (transmitters) that spin horizontally, sending out very high frequency (VHF) signals ranging from 108.00 to 117.95 MHz. These signals are sent from transmitters located in a network of VOR stations. ![]() How Do They Work?ĭVOR are an International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standard navigational aid that assists aircraft in their approach by sending omnidirectional signals from ground radio beacons located at airports and runways. We have undertaken similar projects in other parts of the world including Europe and Africa. Both systems were Indra VRB-53B DVOR's and the projects included our undertaking of all site surveys, civil works, counterpoise construction, installation and commissioning. ![]() Two other recent installation projects were at Hambantota International Airport, Sri Lanka and Kopitnari International Airport, Georgia. Our most recent Installation was to replace the En-Route DVOR and DME for Ports of Jersey Jersey Airport, Channel Islands, complete with full remote control and monitoring along with a new equipment shelter. We can supply DVOR systems and install on a full turnkey basis, or we can provide engineering expertise to support any stage of the project from site survey and safety case development to commissioning and maintenance support. What are DVORs?Ī DVOR (Doppler VHF Omni Directional Range) is a short/medium-range radio navigation system used to aid aircraft in determining their flight position and direction in relation to their destination using VHF (Very High Frequency) signals between 108.00 to 117.95 MHz sent from a radio beacon. We supply and commission DVOR systems on a full turnkey basis to airports across the globe, along with full remote control and monitoring. ![]()
